The cool clean fermentation has helped preserve the wine's wonderfully fresh aromatics. The nose of gooseberries and lemon zest is matched perfectly on the palate by characters of fresh lime juice and a vibrant/zippy acid finish. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to fresh fish on the barbie or simply enjoyed by itself as a pre-dinner drink.
Fresh aromas of stone fruit and musk are evident on the nose. The palate is rich and generous with evident acidity acting as a counterbalance to the intentionally retained residual sugar and helping to provide the wine with great length and intensity.
This wine exhibits all that we want in a cool climate version; a good mid palate weight and structure, vibrant colour and those most desirable of attributes: spice, pepper and liquorice. This wine has all in abundance.
The Cabernet component gives the wine firmness and
authority and the Merlot brings a soft approachability. The nose is
like a basket of mixed red berries and the palate is soft and gentle
without harsh or astringent tannins. The acid is noticeable which makes
this wine such a good accompaniment to grills and braises or firm
cheeses.
This wine only ever aspires to offer good honest value for money and as such is not tricked up with the use of oak or heavy handed malolactic. The vibrant Alpine fruit is allowed to shine through giving hints of fresh white peach and melon on the nose and palate.
A fresh lively nose with strawberry fruits from the Pinot Noir and
zesty lemons from the Chardonnay. The palate is lively with fresh
fruits, creaminess from the malolactic fermentation and finishes with
crisp acidity.
Aged in a mixture of one, two and three year old barrels this style is intentionally made for early enjoyment with fresh fruit and low tannins but still relatively lively acidity.
