“Beautiful spot for wine tasting - and lovely wines. We had an excellent time with Ben who taught us a lot about their wines and made the experience fun. Great value getting the premium wine tasting selection.”

Catto is a label is one of Garry' Crittenden's labels, first made in 2020. The legendary Italian variety Nero D'Avola has its origin near the town of Avola in southern Sicily. Translated it means "Black of Avola" and is named as such due the grape's distinctive dark colouring. Italian Nero d’Avolas possess elegance and finesse, quite remarkable given the warm climate in which they are grown. They are always bright and fresh with astonishing crimson luminescence, somewhere between say a Pinot Noir and a Shiraz.
Tasting notes: Our Australian version, with grapes sourced from the Murray Darling near Mildura, is true to style. A pretty, floral and spicy nose with lots of red fruits. The flavours on the palate are mouth-filling, juicy and finish with eastern spices.
Drink with: Nero d'Avola pairs with richer tomato-based dishes that will be balanced by the tannins and high acidity - Rich Italian beef stews, spaghetti primavera.
Cellaring: Drink now or cellar for up to eight years.
